The Phantom is a true luxury limousine, 5.8 metres in length for the standard car and a massive 6.1 metres for the extended wheelbase. You need a careful hand to guide this gigantic car on the roads, so it’s best you leave that job to a chauffeur. That would also be the smarter choice, as the car is best enjoyed in the rear seats. It is powered by a 6.75 litre V12, with 460 PS and 720 Nm on tap. The comfort level is unmatched by any other car, not to forget the road presence of that massive, imposing, front-grille. Instant celebrity status, guaranteed!
#2. Rolls-Royce Dawn: Rs. 7.3 Crore
Price (ex-showroom, New Delhi): Rs. 7.3 Crore
In case you don’t like the fact that your extremely expensive Rolls-Royce is being driven by a chauffeur, well, you can go for a Rolls-Royce roadster instead. Yes, there is a convertible Rolls, and it is only for the richest. Even though the Dawn is a two-door model, it is upwards of 5 metres in length. This ensures there is enough space in the rear seats as well, so that your entire family can feel the breeze in their hair, driving down an open road, while the world stares in awe at the spectacle you’re driving. With a modern and sophisticated 6.6 litre V12 that pushes out 568 PS and 820 Nm, driving is extremely effortless. Price (ex-showroom, New Delhi): Rs. 6.95 Crore
There has been a global shift in consumer preference within the automobile industry. There has been a significant rise in the popularity of SUVs, so much so that even the biggest brands, which had been shy to build an SUV before, are now either offering one or preparing to offer one. Rolls-Royce Cullinan is the product of these times. If you think the Phantom has enormous road presence, wait till you see the Cullinan on the streets! The 6¾ litre V12 from the Phantom powers this car, but is tuned for 563 PS and 850 Nm. Also, the higher ground clearance is a boon in India, where potholes and ill-made speedbreakers plague the roads.
#4. Rolls-Royce Wraith: Rs.6.7 Crore
Price (ex-showroom, New Delhi): Rs.6.7 Crore
A whole lot of Rolls-Royce here, right? Well, what else can you expect from the brand that used to cater to rich aristocrats. The Wraith, just like the Dawn, is a two-door luxury car, but unlike the Dawn, it has a fixed roof. The Wraith coupe is great for people who love to drive themselves and arrive in style at their destination. It has the same 6.6 litre V12 engine as the Dawn, but it makes 630 PS and 870 Nm of max power and torque, which is more than enough for any situation.
#5. Lamborghini Aventador SVJ: Rs. 6.25 Crore
Price (ex-showroom, New Delhi): Rs. 6.25 Crore
There isn’t a single person who hasn’t heard of Lamborghini, regardless of whether you are an auto enthusiast or not. The Aventador, which was first introduced in 2011, is regarded as one of the best supercars in the world. Lamborghini, however, has never been satisfied with the performance of its cars. The resultant Aventador SVJ is a bonkers car with absolutely mental performance figures. The 6.5-litre V12 makes a maximum power and torque output of 770 PS and 720 Nm respectively, enough to propel this 1,525 kg car from a standstill to 100 kmph in just 2.8 seconds.

Price (ex-showroom, New Delhi): Rs. 6.2 Crore (Rs. 7.0 Crore for Extended Wheelbase trim)

It is powered by a 6.6-litre V12, the same as the Dawn, with identical max power and torque figures as well (563 PS and 820 Nm). It may not be as big as the Phantom, but its dimensions are still very generous. The length is long, at 5.6 metre and the wheelbase is 3465mm. As such, there is enough space in the cabin, especially at the rear, and the ultra-premium, high-quality materials ensure you remain comfy at all times.
#7. Bentley Mulsanne: Rs. 5.55 Crore
Price (ex-showroom, New Delhi): Rs. 5.55 Crore
The biggest competitor to Rolls-Royce, Bentley is another car maker that is synonymous with luxury. Bentley Mulsanne is a true blue factory-made limousine. The Mulsanne is comparable to the Rolls-Royce Ghost in dimensions and comfort. The engine is a 6.8-litre V8 capable of producing 530 PS and a massive 1100 Nm of max power and torque respectively. Also, the Bentley Mulsanne carries a slightly lower price than the aforementioned Rolls, not that it really matters to the target audience. If you can afford one of the most expensive cars in India, surely price is not high on your priority list.
#8. Ferrari 812 Superfast: Rs. 5.2 Crore
Price (ex-showroom, New Delhi): Rs. 5.2 Crore
Italy’s prancing horse has been the epitome of performance for a long time now. With a name like “Superfast”, you don’t have to imagine how the car will be. #9. Lamborghini Aventador S: Rs. 5.01
Price (ex-showroom, New Delhi): Rs. 5.01 (Rs. 5.79 Crore for the Roadster/Convertible trim)
Unlike the “mental” Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, the Aventador S is the relatively saner version of Lambo’s premium supercar. Powered by the same 6.5-litre V12 is a lesser state of tune, pushing 740 PS and 690 Nm, the Aventador S isn’t a slow car by any standards. With lesser performance comes a lesser price tag as well, but this Lamborghini still makes our list of the most expensive cars in India.
#10. Ferrari GTC4 Lusso: Rs. 4.26 Crore
Price (ex-showroom, New Delhi): Rs. 4.26 Crore (Rs. 4.97 Crore for V12 trim)
Built as a replacement for the Ferrari FF, the GTC4Lusso is a Ferrari for the family man. It is available in two variants, a standard ‘T’ variant and a 'V12' variant. The former is powered by a 610PS/760Nm 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8. The latter is powered by a 6.3-litre naturally aspirated V12, capable of producing 690 PS and 700 Nm. Surprisingly, the larger, although more expensive, is not significantly more powerful than the much smaller, twin-turbo V8. That primarily is due to the novelty of naturally-aspirated V12 engine; the configuration is extremely rare, and will become even rarer in years to come.
#11. Aston Martin DB11: Rs. 3.97 Crore
Price (ex-showroom, New Delhi): Rs. 3.97 Crore
British Sportscar marquee Aston Martin has been famous for its use in ‘James Bond’ movies as the ride of choice for the titular character. That is primarily down to the beauty of the different cars in the company’s line-up throughout the years. Aston Martin DB11 is also one such car, with pleasing aesthetics and mind-blowing performance. The DB11 features a 600PS/700Nm 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12. No wonder Bond loves these cars!

#12. Bentley Bentayga: Rs. 3.78 Crore
Price (ex-showroom, New Delhi): Rs. 3.78 Crore (3.85 for the W12 trim)
Bentley was also bitten by the SUV bug back in 2016, and given how all other VW-owned brand were building brilliant SUVs for the road (Audi Q-series, Porsche Cayenne, and now the Lamborghini Urus), it wasn’t a surpise when Bentley offered the Bentayga to the world. Not only is this Bentley an extremely comfy and luxurious car, it is an extremely capable SUV off-road as well. Not that many buyers would actually take this car to the dirt, though.
#13. Aston Martin Rapide: Rs. 3.29 Crore
Price (ex-showroom, New Delhi): Rs. 3.29 Crore
In 2010, Aston Martin Lagonda introduced to the world its first and only 4-door sportscar, the Aston Martin Rapide. Based on the DB9, the Rapide was an extremely beautiful and moderately practical performance car. While you can’t really fit adults comfortably in the rear seats, it’s great for children and pets. The car is powered by a 5.9-litre naturally aspirated V12 which belches out 558 PS and 620 Nm.
#14. Mercedes-Benz Maybach S650 : Rs. 2.73 Crore
Price (ex-showroom, New Delhi): Rs. 2.73 Crore
While Mercedes hasn’t had much success with their ‘Maybach’ brand, the German auto giant now offers the name as an ultra-luxury trim of its already ultra-luxurious S-Class. The result is a car so mind-blowingly beautiful on the inside, you could sell your house and live in the car instead. Looking at its price tag, you might have to actually! Although the Maybach S650 isn’t the absolutely most expensive car in India, it still is outrageously so. There is a smaller, slightly less expensive Maybach on offer as well, the Mercedes-Benz Maybach S560, and to be honest, a lot of famous celebrities in India seem to prefer the smaller S560 to the bigger S650.

#15. Porsche 911: Rs. 1.82 Crore
Price (ex-showroom, New Delhi): Rs. 1.82 Crore (Rs. 1.99 Crore for Cabriolet/Convertible trim)
Porsche 911 is the best example of a sportscar we currently have available. The delicate balance between comfort and handling, the explosive performance, lightweight yet extremely tough chassis, all make it the benchmark against which other sportcars are measured. While globally there are plenty of different variants of this Porsche, there are only two variants available in India; the Carrera Coupe and Carrera Cabriolet (convertible). Under the hood, you’ll find a 3.0-litre Boxer-6 engine that produces 450 PS and 530 Nm, the smallest engine available in the 911 line-up. Even though the Carrera is the base model 911, this car is still one of the most expensive cars in India. Makes us wonder what the 911 Turbo would cost!
