Mahindra's Managing Director, Pawan Goenka has posted new images about his brand new Mahindra XUV300 which should be his first self-owned vehicle after 26 years.

Pawan Goenka, who is currently the Managing Director of the Mumbai-based home-grown automotive company, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, has recently posted new pics on Twitter on the delivery of his brand new car after 26 years. From the set of images, we know that his first self-owned car after 26 years is the highly-appreciated Mahindra XUV300 which has just gone on sale in the country in 2019.

Through the post, Goenka has said that he had driven the XUV300 multiple times as a Managing Director of Mahindra & Mahindra before but this time around, he would drive the car as a new owner and a new customer, that’ll give him a very different experience altogether. Mahindra Group’s chairman, Anand Mahindra also sent his congratulations to Goenka and said that “there’s not much of a competition in the segment”. It is worth noting that Anand Mahindra also possesses a huge collection of Mahindra cars including the Alturas G4, Bolero Invader, TUV300 with a custom kit, TUV300 Plus in special body paint, and the Mahindra Scorpio.

Back to Pawan’s all-new vehicle, it is an AMT-equipped XUV300 which gets a set of 17-inch alloy wheels, sunroof and leather-wrapped seats. Though the variant name of the car is not revealed, it must be, says, the top-spec W8 (O) autoSHIFT version which is currently priced at around Rs 12.69 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Further, we expect the car to be packed with all bells and whistles in place. One should keep in mind that Mahindra made the Red Raging body colour option on the XUV300 available with an extra amount of Rs 15,000. This colour is offered with the top-end version of the vehicle solely.

Launched in early 2019, the Mahindra XUV300 has rapidly garnered immense popularity in the Indian market from the very word go. The compact SUV from Mahindra has clocked huge sale numbers soon after its launch, making it one of the highest-selling models in the monthly sale chart of the SUV segment. The XUV300 managed to create much hype around thanks to a long list of segment-first features it has to offer, including seven airbags, all-disc brakes, front parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, steering modes, highest torque-rated engines and heated ORVMs. Regular features like sunroof, 17-inch diamond-cut alloys, leatherette interior, cruise control, infotainment touchscreen with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay compatibility among others are also on offer. In July 2019, Mahindra launched the automatic version of the XUV300 in the country at the pricing range of Rs 11.5 -12.69 Lakh (ex-showroom).

The diesel variants of the Mahindra XUV300 employ a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine that can churn out 115 BHP of max power and 300 Nm of peak torque. It comes with a 6-speed AMT derived from Magnetti Marelli. It should be noted that this transmission option is available with the diesel model only.

In another development, Mahindra is gearing up for the massive launches of new-gen cars in India in 2020, namely the next-gen Mahindra Thar, Mahindra Scorpio or the Mahindra XUV500.
