Modified Kia Seltos With Custom Interior

Hyundai’s upmarket sister brand, Kia, had recently launched the Seltos SUV in India. With its futuristic looks and powerful yet frugal powertrain options, it is no surprise that the Kia Seltos has managed to rake up over 23,000 bookings in under a month! Kia delivered 6,200 units of the Seltos SUV within first ten days of launch to its customers, which is quite remarkable. What’s even more remarkable is the fact that people have started customising their Kia Seltos SUVs as well!

Customisation in not a new concept in the Indian automobile market. People love pimping their rides, and why not! It’s a fun way to mould your vehicle according to your desires and wishes. While aftermarket changes to the engine and transmission are neither recommended nor legal in India, the interiors have no such limitation. That, indeed, seems like the philosophy behind this modified Kia Seltos SUV.

The customisation is performed by Car Stylein, a Vehicle customisation shop based in new Delhi. As seen in the picture, the interiors are completely different from the stock version. There is plenty of faux wood and leather thrown in there for premium feel. Everything, from the colours to the fit and finish, looks absolutely magnificent. In all honesty, the car is able to capture the essence of much more expensive German luxury saloons. Too much praise? We don’t think so!

If the dashboard doesn’t impress you, just take a look at the door panel. The level of detail that has gone into the designing and crafting of this vehicle is absolutely amazing! There are wood inserts around the door handle, and the use of contrasting dark and light leather add to the brilliance. The triangular cut (hexagonal?) pattern is the highlight here, and will keep your eyes busy every time you look at it.

The car gets Art Leather seats in beige, with simple block pattern and same-coloured stitching. The stock Kia Seltos comes with dark interiors which, although they look and feel good, are a bit dull. The use of lighter colours here makes the cabin feel airy and more premium. The beige, however, is more difficult to clean in case it gets dirty, and given the monsoons in India, it absolutely will. Still, that doesn’t discount the beauty of these interiors. They look so nice that the typo in the brand logo/slogan is forgiven and forgotten.

The regular Kia Seltos is no place for complaint though! It is a great compact SUV, and competes with Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster, and Maruti S-Cross. The Seltos SUV is offered in three engine options, a 1.4-litre GDI turbo petrol, a naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Prices begin at ₹ 9.69 lakh.
