The Tata Harrier is the first car to be based on the homegrown carmaker's JLR-derived OMEGA Arc. It locks horns with the likes of MG Hector and Jeep Compass
Tata Motors and Mahindra are getting a lot of support from the buyers around the country. In the Indian market, Tata cars are known for their robust built quality and modern looks. Tata Harrieris one of the most capable SUVs in its segment, and it is also one of the most good looking SUVs offered by the automaker in our market. In its segment, it rivals with the likes of MG Hector and Jeep Compass. Tata introduced the new BS6-complaint Harrier in our market early this year, which employs subtle design and feature upgrades. Here’s a recent YouTube video, where a vlogger tells why he chose to buy Tata Harrier over the competition.
This video is uploaded by a YouTube channel named as AutoTube India. The vlogger purchased the Dark Edition of the SUV, which has been recently launched in the market. The Tata Harrier you see here is the XM variant of the SUV. The only difference between the regular and Dark Edition model is that the latter gets an all-black treatment. The top-spec trim of the SUV gets blacked-out alloy wheels instead of two-tone diamond-cut units. The premium chrome inserts have been replaced by elegant looking gloss black accents.
Now talking about the vlogger, he chose Harrier over MG Hector because the Tata SUV offers better ride quality and comes loaded with many more standard features as compared to that of the Hector. And when it comes to comparing the Harrier with Jeep Compass, the only drawback of the Jeep SUV is that it is slightly overpriced. Moreover, as compared to Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass shorter in dimensions. As per the vlogger, Tata Harrier is a perfect SUV as it looks good, comes loaded with a decent amount of features and has a spacious cabin. Mechanically, it derives power from a 20-litre diesel unit, which puts out power and torque outputs of 170 PS and 350 Nm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed MT or 6-speed automatic transmission.
