The new-gen Maruti Celerio is set to come in early 2021. Here's how the second-gen Celerio would look like based on our exclusive rendering of the new-gen Celerio.
The next-gen Maruti Celerio was initially scheduled to be launched around the festive season before the launch was postponed to early 2021. Reports revealed that the main reason for pushing the launch of the new-gen Celerio back is the delay from the supplier’s end. While waiting for the arrival of the new Celerio, our in-house digital artist has worked on the rendering of the car based on multiply spy shots of the same.
The rendered version of the new-gen Maruti Celerio mostly captures the rear end of the upcoming hatchback car. The new-gen Maruti Celerio will arrive with a fresh design in line with the brand’s modern design language. The upcoming Maruti Celero will get some major visual changes including new squarish tail lamp design, redesigned bumper with prominent creases. The hatchback gets a low profile giving the car a sportier look. Apart from those, the rest of the design remains largely the same. Let’s wait for our renderings of the front and side profile of the new Celerio.
When it comes to the next-gen Celerio’s interior, Maruti Suzuki will be updating its cabin with more up-to-date features like SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment system for the higher variants, new digital instrument cluster among others. In terms of safety, the new-gen Celerio will be equipped with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, front seat belt reminder, high-speed alert and reverse parking sensors.
While the next-gen Maruti Celerio will be based on the company’s new Heartect platform, the car will see an increase in terms of dimension with a longer wheelbase and a larger cabin as compared to the current-gen model.
In terms of engines, the second-gen Maruti Celerio is said to come with two engine options that also powers the Wagon R sibling. All that means you can expect a 68 HP 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol mill and an 83 HP 1.2-litre K-Series petrol motor unit. Transmission choices will likely be carried forward from the earlier car, namely a 5-speed MT and an AMT option.
