Further, it comes up with the wheelbase of 2,636 mm that helps the Triber stand among the largest of the sub-four-metre lot.

Having said, with these aforementioned dimensions, the Renault Triber slots into the completely new sub-four-metre MPV segment in our country. With its quite a compact size, the Triber still manages to seat 7 adults with adequate room and space on the inside, making one of its biggest USPs. Boot space of the MPV is also fantastic, with 84 litres (for 7-seater version) and up to 625 litres (for the 5-seater layout). Unbelievable!

The Tata Tiago, on the other hands, turns out to be more compact of the two. Of course, we are working on the comparison between an MPV and a hatchback, then it’s understandable. The Tata Tiago comes with the overall length of 3,746 mm, the width of 1,667 mm, the height of 1,535 mm, together with the wheelbase of 2,400 mm. From these, the Tiago is 244 mm shorter in length, 108 mm shorter in height and 236 mm shorter in the wheelbase as compared to the Renault offering. Even the width of the Tiago is 92 mm less than the Triber’s 1,739 mm. The Tata Tiago offers a cargo space of 242 litres with the seating capacity of 5 people.

Renault Triber vs Tata Tiago Design: Which Looks Better?

Exterior Comparison

Renault Triber

The upcoming Renault Triber is developed on the modified version of the Renault Kwid’s CMF-A platform and it does bear a resemblance to the Kwid in terms of appearance. Under the cooperation between Renault’s design centres in France and India, the Triber carries a global styling language.

The exterior of the Renault new car sports new headlights, imposing triple edge front grille with a big Renault logo, sculpted clamshell bonnet and squared-off rear end. The MPV has also got crossover-ish styling bits on its exterior package including an upright stance that is accentuated by roof rails (offer a load capacity of 50 kg), skid plates, black cladding around the wheel arches, chunky runners at the sides, etc. The front grille of the Triber comes with plenty of chrome inserts that further enhances the upmarket appeal of the model. The rear end of the MPV features a small spoiler atop the rear windshield, wraparound taillights and a Triber branding mounted at the centre of the tailgate.

Tata Tiago

In the compact hatchback segment, the Tata Tiago has achieved quite a good amount of popularity. Always, there’re a whole bunch of reasons behind the Tiago’s success and a part of it is the incomparable clean design with a sporty nice look. Underpinned by the company’s Impact Design philosophy, the Tata Tiago looks distinctive in the Tata family vehicles with traditional “smiling” hexagon grille housing a multifaceted Tata logo, projector headlamps, sophisticated front bumper and high bonnet. The side and rear profile of the Tiago look neat and elegant with a set of dual-tone alloy wheels, bold waistlines, spread-out tail lights and neatly sculpted tailgate. The glossy black roof with a small spoiler gives the Tiago a dual-tone treatment.

Interior Comparison

The Tata Tiago interior is totally the biggest surprise. The cabin of the car is pretty well-built for not only a comfortable feel but also for a cosmetic effect. In truth, the Tiago has obviously put Tata’s reinvention into gear when talking about the hatchback’s cabin layout. The cabin of the Tiago rolls out a premium look and feel, from the fabric upholstery to textured finished dash top. The dual-tone dashboard of the car is well-designed for a smart look with important buttons and controls sitting at the right places. The central display is placed lower on the dash, right below the central AC vents duo. There's a range of physical buttons sitting right under the screen along with rotary aircon controls being mounted underneath them. We can see the orange colour-coded bits on the either outer ends of the dash that gives the car's interior a more interesting look. The three-spoke steering wheel looks nice with Tata's logo finished in silver in the middle of the steering.

On the other hand, Renault Triber's interior seems to go for a more aggressive look. It looks classy and more sophisticated than the Tiago's that shows how much effort the French carmaker has put on the unique multi-purpose vehicle. The Triber utilises the dual-tone interior colour theme that delivers quite an upmarket feel all around the corner of the cabin. The dash layout of the Triber is rather neat and tidier than the Tata Tiago - a reminiscient of the "German-ness" design styles. We see the big touchscreen infotainment system combined with pizza slice-shaped tachometer that is new and interesting to look at. The Triber uses a flat-bottom steering wheel with chrome Renault logo that looks nicer than the conventional steering of the Tata Tiago. The physical buttons below the touchscreen are conspicuous by their absence and replaced by three rotary controls. The two-tone fabric seats of the Triber also increases the sportiness on the inside higher than that of the Tiago rival.

4. Renault Triber vs Tata Tiago Features: Which Is Safer & More Convenient?

Comfort Features Comparison

The Tata Tiago comes packed with Harman infotainment system which can be connected to a phone to display the Turn-by-Turn navigation instructions and offers Juke Car app for the passengers to add songs to the playlist via mobile hotspot. The 8-speaker sound system from Harman is also a worth-mentioning feature on the inside of the vehicle. That said, it is like an act of generosity by Tata Motors as we hardly see such a premium sound system making its appearance in any model of the same price mark. It comes compatible with enough functions like audio, telephone, aux-in, USB and Bluetooth connectivity.

The Tata Tiago cabin is quite storage-friendly. It comes with a lot of places to store stuffs. The headroom and legroom of the front seats are fairly good, but they can be uncomfortable a bit for tall people. The space for driver’s seat is adequate with adjustable function and headrests but that of the rear seats should be cramped to accommodate 3 adults.

On the other hand, the Renault Triber looks extremely impressive with quite a spacious and feature-laden cabin. Needless to say, the French carmaker is levelling up the game by thoughtfully making a car of great convenience and comfort. That said, the Triber is the most spacious passenger car available within the sub-four-metre footprint. It offers a boot space of 625 litres (5-seater layout) and the interior storage of 31 litres along with 100+ seating configurations.

Marketed as a super spacious car, the Renault Triber provides quite a decent amount of interior space for all passengers. The all-new MPV comes with Easyfix Seats for the third row for the advantage of adjusting the space depending user’s needs. The headroom and legroom are very ample, which are further enhanced by the flat floor. The Triber’s storages are also generous, with the inclusion of deep storage spaces on the centre console, cup holders and a big glove box. For such things, the Renault Triber turns out to tower over the Tiago aggressively in this department.

The new Triber interiors are well-equipped. The easy-to-used MediaNAV Evolution 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system on the Triber is umber-cool. It comes integrated with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Video playback and push-to-talk feature on the screen. Other highlighting interior features of the Triber include a 3.5-inch LCD display for the instrument cluster, dedicated AC vents for the third row of seats, charging sockets, armrests and many more. Needless to say, the Renault Triber is the winner for this part of the competition.

The Tata Tiago comes with standard safety kits such as dual front airbags, overspeed alert, immobiliser, ABS with EBD and corner stability control, driver & passenger seatbelt reminder, seatbelt with pretensioner and load limiters and rear parking sensors. The top-spec variants of the Tiago gets more features like follow-me-home lamps, front fog lamps, rear defogger, speed-sensing autodoor locks, rear smart wiper with wash, along with day& night IRVM.
