Do you know what Upcoming Honda Cars at Auto Expo 2020 will you get to see? Read here to find out.

Japanese auto marque Honda has been a long-player in the Indian automobile market but has a very small yet capable lineup. With the coming auto expo in the early months of 2020, Honda isn’t planning to expand its product portfolio left-right; instead, the manufacturer has announced its plans for the fair. What plans? Well, sadly, Honda’s plan is that it won’t participate at the fair.

Not participating in the Auto Expo does not mean that Honda is not launching any products in the Indian market, in any way. Honda has lined up quite a few important cars for us Indians and what are they? We’ve compiled a list of all Honda cars at Auto Expo 2020 that could’ve been a sight for us before they actually arrive at the showroom floors.

Next-Generation Honda City

Honda Cars at Auto Expo 2020 – Honda City

The most-selling car from the Japanese manufacturer, Honda city, is ready for a generation change, and thus it is here on our list of upcoming Honda cars at auto expo 2020. No, it won’t get any facelift for now; the car will be designed from a blank sheet of paper and adopt a few key changes over the current generation of Honda City. The prototypes for the 2020 Honda City have already been spotted on test in India and Malaysia, and they hint towards a sleeker and much better Honda City. The car is slated to be unveiled on November 25, 2019, at the Bangkok Motor Show in Thailand.

The new City would be a longer and wider car than the one currently on sale, and the interiors will be shared with the recently-unveiled Honda Jazz. Also enhancing its overall exterior is the sloping roofline that merges into the thicker and short trunk lid. The 2020 Honda City would also wear LED lights all around it as is the case with existing car. On the inside, the car will carry a sense of premiumness in its upholstery and would be even more spacious than the outgoing car. And, with the BS-6 norms kicking in from the coming April 2020, the new City will also get a set of updated motors under its hood. It is expected to get a 1.0L turbo-petrol engine, a 1.5L petrol mill with mild hybrid assistance, and the same 1.5L i-Dtec mill as part of the options list. All of these engines will be BS-6 compliant, and Honda claims it will be 33% more fuel-efficient than the outgoing model. The new City is expected to be launched around the festive season in the year 2020.

Next-Gen Honda Jazz

Honda Cars at Auto Expo 2020 – Honda Jazz

The next on our list of upcoming Honda cars at auto expo 2020 is the City based hatchback from the Japanese manufacturer, the Jazz. Jazz has been around in the country for quite a long duration now and is loved by the Indian audience for space and practicality it offers with its multi-function seats. However, the car was still due for an update, and Honda has showcased the updated Jazz at the Tokyo motor show. If Honda was participating in the 2020 auto expo, the Jazz would’ve been showcased to the masses here as well.

The new Jazz gets a complete makeover on the styling front and an updated powertrain. It gets hybrid powertrain as standard and the two motors on the powertrain will endow to the electrification process in the future. The new Jazz retains the large greenhouse it has also come with, even in the new car. As for now, Honda has confirmed that Jazz will get a 1.0L turbo-petrol unit and a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol unit with mild-hybrid tech. And, these similar set of engines will also be seen doing duties on the 2020 Honda city in a slightly different state of tune. But the sad part is Honda has announced that it won’t be bringing the new Jazz to here anytime soon, anyway the car is an important product for Honda India. And, Honda would've surely thought of some India-spec Jazz for sometime later.

Honda Brio

Honda Cars at Auto Expo 2020 – Honda Brio

Honda launched the Brio hatch here in India in the year 2011. And, the car garnered limelight due to its quirky styling, and an all-glass rear tailgate. The car is still on sale in India, but the sales figures aren’t as excited as the car’s tailgate is. The South-Asian markets have, however, received an all-new Brio, that is in line with the current-gen of Amaze we get here in India. Although it’s still not confirmed that if Honda would be bringing the new Brio to India, but we suspect that Honda would definitely do their job of introducing the car in India. As it can bring volumes for the manufacturer by competing against the likes of Maruti Suzuki WagonR and Tata Tiago. Thus, not including it here on the list of Honda cars at auto expo 2020 would’ve been unfair with this potent small hatch.

Honda XR-V

Honda Cars at Auto Expo 2020 – Honda XR-V

Last on our list of Honda models at the next Auto Expo that the masses could gaze for if the manufacturer was coming there is a compact SUV. Honda has tasted its share of success with WR-V in the compact SUV segment, and not having a bite at that again would be a no-brainer. Honda has showcased the HR-V based XN-V that is an electrified version of the XR-V (A variant of HR-V sold in China.) and is speculated to be launched in a bid to address the competition from the upcoming Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV300 EV. And we expect that it could be launched here in India. Since Honda has axed the plans to bring the HR-V here, and XN-V being an EV makes a lot more sense. The XR-V wears similar styling package as the Brio and Amaze, however, the thick chrome slat wearing the Honda logo gives it a familiar look. On the inside, XN-V will get a spacious interior and that’s something Honda has already shown their capability with the Amaze.

We these models, we conclude our list of upcoming Honda cars we would've loved to see at Auto Expo 2020 that the masses could’ve experienced if the manufacturer had planned to participate.
